REPORT OF SENSITIZATION AGAINST CHILD AND ADOLESCENT SEXUAL ABUSE HELD AT AROJE COMMUNITY GRAMMAR SCHOOL, OGBOMOSO ON THURSDAY 7TH MARCH, 2019

We are grateful to God for the success of today’s sensitization held at Aroje community grammar school, Ogbomosho. The sensitization commenced around 7:35 am and the team led Miss Adeyeye Taiwo opened the floor. we were able to speak to quite a number of students with both sex at both the senior and junior classes on their assembly ground. We had a whole 25min minutes to interact and educate them on sexual abuse which was moderated by Miss Adeyeye Taiwo and Miss Ogunlowo Yemisi.
It was fun interacting with them as they were able to answer questions relating to sexual abuse and from their responses, it was evident they had learnt a lot from the little time we spent with them. We had limited time left but two studentswere allowed to ask questions directly. Below are the questions asked:
1.If my elder brother laps me while travelling, does that mean I am sexually abused?
2.If my parent should lap me, does that mean I am sexually abused?
Though they wanted more enlightenment to what we taught them but we were limited with time.
We were appreciated by the teachers and the entire management. We left the school around 8:30am. Thanks
