Globally, about 150 million girls and 73 million boys are sexually abused annually. One in every 13 males and one in five(5) females experience sexual abuse before age eighteen (18) coming down to Africa including Nigeria ,it is estimated that one in ten children or adolescents are victims . Child and adolescent sexual abuse is continually reaching an alarming level with most cases of abuse not reported, unrecorded and not exposed due to unknown fear, associated humiliation and or stigmatization. Goal number 5( gender equality) and goal number 10(reduced inequality) was adopted to address such aforementioned issue.
The time to act is now, together let’s end violence against children and adolescents
